Pastor Gary Brown

1Peter v 6 - 11

Gary is pastor of New Life Church in Whitehaven.
Today he speaks of how all believers are challenged because of their beliefs and refers to scripture to show how we should respond.
We are told to humble ourselves. Are YOU known for your humility?
We are also told we are engaged in warfare. We are not to be frightened - we are the elect. We are to be watchful, on guard, alert.

Pastor John Perkins

John uses building terms and two lengths of string to demonstrate that even a small deviation at some point will take us a long way from God's standards.
Literally and in building terminology we must remain 'true'.

Genesis 1 - And God Said,"

The Creation Story - not based on a true story, not adapted from a true story. It is THE true story. It is history.
GOD SPOKE and that is how we and everything else came into existence. Secular man makes up his own story about chance combinations of elements because he chooses to live in the dark. God separated the light from the darkness and He has separated us from darkness to know the truth. Why?

Pastor Paul Jennings

Acts 26 v 28 "You almost persuade me to become a Christian."
Why are some 'almost persuaded'? Are we failing to 'sell' Christianity?
Did Jesus try to remove all obstacles to people accepting Him?

Paul Harrison

Blind Bartimaeus - One event - Three differing accounts.
Paul explains why there are differences but also makes it clear that somebody at some time must have told the blind men about Jesus otherwise they may not have 'cried out' and certainly would not have answered Him as they did in requesting their sight.
We are reminded that we must tell the spiritually blind about Jesus.

Pastor Colin LeNoury

A Neglected Truth. Luke Chapter 21 v 25 - 36
Jesus is coming again. Why are some churches failing to proclaim this imminent event when it is mentioned more than 800 times in scripture?
Colin suggests answers and gives us four reasons why we should proclaim it.

Joshua Taylor

Daniel 3
Paul gives the reading as an introduction to Joshua preaching on this chapter of Daniel.
What do we think about in our spare time? What concerns us? Is there anything we feel we can't do without?
Are we still worshipping idols? God sets aside what man sets up.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were fully focussed on what is important in life even to death.

Romans 5 v 1 - 5

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand"
We HAVE been justified, we DO have access and we MUST take a stand.

Could The Lord Return for His Church in 2019? Luke 12 v 22 - 40

A provocative title leading us to the imminent return of Christ. Date setting for this is unscriptual and damaging to biblical prophecy but we should recognise a catalogue of events and signs indicating what God's word tells us are birth pangs.
Do you recognise that we are living in perilous but exciting days?
We are to Look, Watch and Wait.

LUKE CHAPTER 12
(40) Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Pastor Colin LeNoury

What Does the Future Hold for the Church?

Colin identifies four main events that lie ahead of us.
1) The Rapture and Resurrection. Christians have a hope that non-Christians don't have and those alive when Christ comes are at no advantage over those believers who have experienced the first death. (1 THESSALONIANS CH.4 v 15 'prevent' = precede)
2) Judgement and Rewards. Believers are judged (an evaluation) at the Bema seat of Christ. This is not the Great White Throne judgement of unbelievers.
3) The Marriage ceremony of the lamb.
4) The Millenial rule of Christ on Earth. Believers will 'reign' as administrators in leadership roles.

Bill Clews

Jesus Tells Peter to Walk on the Sea

Most Christians are aware of the word logos - that is the word of God which of course has applicaton to us all but many are not familiar with the word rhema.
Bill gives examples from scripture and relates personal experiences to demonstrate that rhema applies specific word of God to a specific person at a specific time.

The book mentioned at the start is; "In Six Days: Why Fifty Scientists Choose to Believe in Creation" (John F. Ashton)

MATTHEW CHAPTER 14
(26) And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear.
(27) But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."
(28) And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."
